01. New York

When a non-American thinks of the United States, they first think of the majestic Statue of Liberty, the towering skyscrapers, and a glittering skyline – all of them from New York. Through the centuries the United States of America have beckoned millions through the promise of the American Dream – a promise in which life would be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement. That dream was fulfilled in New York.

They say that the world marches to the beat of New York and New York marches to its own beat. New York or as it is popularly known – “The Big Apple” is a vibrant and iconic city located in the northeastern United States. Not many know that it was briefly the capital of the United States from 178-1785. Though it has transformed several times over the centuries, today New York is a global hub for finance, commerce, culture, and tourism.

New York City is a melting pot of cultures, offering a rich tapestry of art, theater, music, and cuisine. With its dynamic energy, cultural landmarks, and economic significance, New York stands as one of the world’s most iconic and influential cities.

Beyond the city, the state of New York is characterized by diverse landscapes and is home to natural wonders such as Niagara Falls, scenic beauty of the Adirondack Mountains and the picturesque Finger Lakes region. It is home to  historical sites like the Statue of Liberty, and prestigious academic institutions like Columbia University.
