Located just outside of Los Angeles and based out of Valencia, California, Six Flags Magic Mountain is a nationally famous amusement park that is well known for high-speed thrills and adrenaline-packed fun. Getting there

If you do not wish to use a car to get to Six Flags Magic Mountain, you still have a few options to get there. If you hire a cab, it will cost you somewhere between $65 to $95 each way. The journey will last for about 30 minutes each way, which makes it one of the fastest ways to get there. Some tour companies and hotels do offer shuttles to the park, and it can range from being complimentary to $130 per person.  

You can also reach Six Flags Magic Mountain by using transit. From Los Angeles Union Station, take the 213 Metrolink train to Lancaster and get off at Newhall. After that, catch the #12 bus towards the Transit Center. Transfer at McBean Regional Transit Center to the #3 toward Magic Mountain, and then ride it until the last stop. This method of reaching the park will take you about 2 hours and 20 minutes each way and is the longest route. Although it is quite affordable and will only cost you $22 per person round trip.

  • One-Day Pass – It is the base-level ticket and will grant you entry into any of the Six Flags locations but does not include parking. If you look to buy it online, you can grab it at $64.99 which comes to about $260 for a family of four. However, if you decide to purchase it at the kiosk, you will pay $114.99. Therefore, buying it online is the way to go.   
  • Platinum Pass – This will cost you about $99.99 and is the best value you can get for your money. You also get access to general parking and unlimited visits to Six Flags for all of the year.   
  • Diamond Pass – For people who want the ultimate Six Flags Magic Mountain experience, there is no other way to go. This season pass is the most expensive Six Flags ticket you can purchase and will cost you about $169.99 per person. You get a lot of premiere features including preferred parking, four skip-the-line passes, unlimited visits to Six Flags for 2024, and 20% discounts on all food and merchandise.

Attractions

  • X2 – It is the world’s first-ever 4D roller coaster. It is a heart-pounding experience that redefines what a roller coaster can be. It is easily one of the most unique and different park rides you will ever enjoy and is the best place to get started. It is nothing but weird fun as the seats on the ride turn, tilt backward and spin while reaching speeds of up to 76 miles per hour. Even though it is just a 2-minute ride, it is easily one of the most popular rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain.   
  • Superman: Escape from Krypton – It opened back in 1997 and remains to this day as one of the most intense experiences you can have at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The vehicles on the rides were one of the first to use electromagnetic for propulsion and it allows the ride to go to a mind-boggling speed of 100 miles per hour. The design of the ride is simple yet thrilling.   
  • The Riddler’s Revenge – If you’ve wondered what it would be like to ride a roller coaster standing up, then Riddler’s Revenge is the one for you. It runs at an amazingly high speed where you are standing all the time. Even though it goes quite slow when compared to other rides at the park, it is still a lot of fun as it goes inverted multiple times. You soar through the air for three minutes and forty seconds, you’re sure to get a thrill on this ride.  
  • Full Throttle – As the name suggests, Full Throttle does not fail to deliver. This Six Flags Magic Mountain ride soars up to 70 miles per hour and will launch you into the air with the force of a rocket. It is one of the newer roller coasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain and not for the faint of heart.  
  • Tatsu – This dragon roller coaster soars at 60 miles per hour, climbs up giant spans, and then noses down to the earth and rolling all this while. It is as close as you will feel like Superman flying through the air at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Tatsu also has the highest pretzel roll of any roller coaster in the world and its first operations started in 2016.

Six Flags Magic Mountain does not disappoint in that regard, thanks in particular to its many dessert options. Funnel Cake Factory is the best place to enjoy fried dough glazed in syrup and whipped cream. Their Oreo Funnel Cake topped with Oreo flakes, white chocolate fudges, and creamy soft serve ice creams are some of the best things made at Funnel Cake Factory.
